MONEY MATTERS(TM); It's Either Working For You or Someone Else:

Five teens spent one and half years working on developing a business plan, raising captial and implementing the city's first ever all youth operated seasonal ice cream shop. The program was successful for the first two years and experienced a decline in sales in the third year, resulting in a change of business strategy. They now rent space at area festivals during the summer, learning that the profit and sales were substantially larger for a weekend festival than a weeklong store front. This program ceased operations in 2002 and has morphed in to a Financial Literacy program that is taught in area schools.  Special thanks to the Foundation for Financial Literacy for their continued support.

This program has been taught since 1999 and has been introduced as financial literacy curriculum in several schools throughout the United States.

L.E.A.P. PatchLaw Enforcement Adolescent Program (L.E.A.P.):

LEAP is a partnership with local business leaders and the K-9 Officers from Butler County Sheriff's Office and the Sharonville Police Department with the following goals:

*Assist in the development of an educational relationship between the Police and the youth community.
*Develop strategies to engage young people with the Police in unique experiences.
*K-9 demonstrations.
*Shop with a Cop Program for Christmas

FITONE

FITONE is agroundbreaking program was begun in June, 2010 and is intended for young men and women with developmental disabilities and physical challenges. It is a heartbreaking and well known fact that young men and women with developmental disabilities do not have the same opportunities as other young men and women their age. It would be very difficult for a young man who is mildly mentally retarded or a young woman who has cerebral palsy to walk into any gym off the street and be given the chance to do weight training, weight lifting, weight loss or exercise. There would be some hesitancy on the part of the gym to serve this young man or young woman for fear of liability, injury and communication issues.

"CONSIDER THIS with TEEN RESPONSE" radio show:

This is where it all began, just ten short years ago. Founded by Executive Director and former Police Officer, John Keuffer, the radio show program was the impetus for the formation of the charity. After ten years on WAIF 88.3FM, the program was handed over to Teen Response youth member, Logan. The program highlighted the positive aspects in the youth community, provides a forum for youth discussions and showcases young talent and music.  Now in 2004, the program has reinvented itself with a new format and a new station...WCIN 1480AM.  Joining the team is Lauren C. and Shauna B. our teen co-hosts.  Thanks to the underwriting of the Charles H. Dater Foundation, this program will be airing monthly from 9a.m. til 10a.m. on Saturdays!

Teen Response OutReach Program:

Teen Response and Celebrity/Athletes are synonymous with each other. Fast becoming recognized as the best program to help both athletes and youth, by providing opportunities for them to interact and share. Each year, Teen Response visits on average 50 schools in the Greater Cincinnati area, reaching over 30,000 students. The program brings athletes from the worlds of baseball, basketball, hockey, football and wrestling right in to the classrooms. Students get an opportunity to interact, listen and learn from the athletes who are looked at as role models.

Teen Response Project:

The core of our program is our weekly leadership training program. Youth from across the city, and even youth visiting from across the country and world have participated in our weekly meetings. Working with an average of 25-30 youth each week, this program works to build positive self esteem, good self-image, community service skills, and leadership. Many of the youth graduates have received numerous local, state and national honors.

Character Education Through Martial Arts Training

Through a joint grantwriting effort between Kathy Garrison, Community Leader for Madisonville and Teen Response, the creation of C.E.M.A.T. was formed.  This program uses martial arts training, taught by two Police Officers as a way to build positive self-esteem, character, leadership and Police/Youth community relations.  The program operates weekly and each class is followed up with a study hall.  Partners:  Lighthouse Youth Services, Madisonville Weed & Seed, HUD and Teen Response.
